As I said, I finished my crin today, so I thought I’d post some photos.
I know, it’s so gauche of me to post myself in my undergarments. You might even catch a glimpse of ankle later!
Here are the short hoops that form the base. As I said before, I was concerned about squeezing into the coach, should we get it, so this was my idea to circumvent a full hoop skirt. An added benefit is, I can easily grab the bottom of the hoops and hitch my skirt up a bit to keep it clean outdoors.
Here you can see the various layers – periwinkle organza with polka dots, about 40 yards of light pink netting, and lilac taffeta.
All in all, I’m pleased with how it turned out, and I think it’ll do the job nicely. That being said, if I had to do it over again, I’d probably just buy a crinoline! It was a simple project, but took up a lot more time than I anticipated.
Oh, and the hoops are poly tubing, and my corset is boned with duct ties. So I totally did some of my dress shopping at Home Depot.
